Bangladeshi wins 660 million taka in UAE lottery. Bangladeshi expatriate living in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, has won the 20 million dirham grand prize of the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi September draw. In Bangladeshi taka, this is about 660 million 24 thousand taka. The name of the new millionaire was announced in the draw held on Friday (October 3).
The winner, Harun Sardar Noor Nobi Sardar, is a private taxi driver by profession. The 44-year-old expatriate bought the ticket number 035350 on September 14. He was surprised when the hosts of the program told him the news over the phone during the live draw. At that moment, he just said in joy, “Okay, okay.”
Harun has been living in the UAE since 2009. He considers Abu Dhabi his home. He had been buying Big Tickets every month for a long time, leaving his family in Bangladesh. He will share this win with 10 other participants.
Other Prizes: In addition to the grand prize, four participants in the draw won 50,000 dirhams each. They include Shihab Umair and Siddique Pamblath from India, Ali Hussain Ali from Bangladesh and Adel Mohammad from Pakistan.
In the Spin the Wheel competition, Riyas, an expatriate living in Qatar, was represented by his friend Ashiq Mottam. He ultimately won 150,000 dirhams.
The only female winner of today’s draw was Susan Robert from Kerala, India. She won the huge sum and said that she will spend it on her son’s education and travel expenses.
