Facebook, Apple and Google's 16 billion passwords leaked

Facebook, Apple, and Google’s 16 billion passwords were leaked. Around 16 billion passwords from various social media and government services, including Apple, Facebook, and Google, have been leaked. This information was revealed in a report published in Forbes magazine on Thursday (June 19).

The report said that 16 billion login information and passwords have been leaked. After this incident, US search giant Google has advised billions of users to change their passwords. In addition, the US intelligence agency FBI has also warned American citizens not to open suspicious links in SMS.

According to experts, a type of malicious software has played a major role in this huge amount of information leak, which has been launched on the user’s device without their knowledge and has secretly collected information. Once these malware, which are called ‘infostealers’, enter the device, they collect all the sensitive login information (such as username and password) from there and later send it to hackers.

Researchers say this is not a simple data breach, but a blueprint for massive data abuse.” These passwords and login details can be used in phishing attacks or fake links to steal information and hack accounts.

They also say this is not just recycled old data that has been repurposed. This is brand new and usable information that could become an easy weapon for hackers to carry out large-scale cyber attacks.
