FIFA announces process to participate in World Cup for free. The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious event in world football. Organizing this tournament requires a large number of workers, a large part of which is taken by volunteers. The next edition of this global event, held every 4 years, will be jointly organized by Canada, the United States and Mexico in 2026.
To ensure the successful organization of this upcoming World Cup, the world football governing body has already started the application process for recruiting volunteers. The selected volunteers will work in various important duties including match organization, spectator service, logistics.
FIFA can hire about 65 thousand volunteers to work for 6 weeks in this 48-team tournament. The volunteers will provide assistance in 16 cities to manage a total of 23 activities including stadiums, training centers, airports, hotels. Anyone can apply now.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said, “Volunteers are the heart, soul and laughter of the FIFA tournament. We hope that interested individuals will join us in welcoming the world in 2026.”
No prior experience is required to work as a volunteer. However, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to work as a volunteer in the host country.
FIFA has also set some conditions in terms of language skills. Fluency in English is required. In addition, Spanish will be preferred for duties in Mexico and French for work in Canada. Any other additional language skills will be considered an added advantage for applicants.
Applications can be made from August to September this year. However, FIFA has not specified a specific deadline or date. Volunteers will provide services at the World Cup in a total of 8 shifts from June 11 to July 19, 2026. Interested parties can click on this link to apply.
