This time, the cricket-based Indian website ESPN-Cricinfo has reported that the upcoming edition of the world stage may start on February 7. And the curtain of the World Cup may fall on March 8. The participating countries have already been informed of the World Cup window.
This 20-team World Cup is going to be jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India. It is known that it will be played at five venues in India and at least two in Sri Lanka. However, the final of the title-deciding final depends on the result of Pakistan.
If Pakistan reaches the final, the title-deciding match will be held in Colombo. Because, The Green Men will not play in any global tournament in India for the next three years. However, if Pakistan does not reach the final for some reason, the final will be held in Ahmedabad.
20 teams will compete in 4 groups. Where two teams from each group will play in the Super Eights. Those 8 teams will again be divided into two groups. From there, two teams will participate in the semi-finals. A total of 55 matches will be played throughout the tournament.
