22-member advisory committee formed for DUCSU elections. Preparations for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections have officially begun. A 22-member advisory committee has been formed to oversee the overall activities of the elections. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan approved the committee.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan is serving as the convener of the advisory committee. Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Proctor of the university, is serving as the member-secretary.
Other members of the committee include Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Dean of the Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Professor Dr. Mahmud Osman Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Dr. Taiyebur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Biology Professor Dr. Md. Ekramul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Upma Kabir, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Azharul Islam Sheikh, Former Dean and Retired Professor of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Sadrul Amin.

Meanwhile, yesterday (July 1) the first meeting of the newly formed advisory committee with the university administration and returning officers was held in the Vice-Chancellor’s meeting room. The meeting discussed the overall preparation for the election, the voting process, security measures and various aspects of ensuring a fair and acceptable environment. During this time, the advisory members gave various important suggestions to make the election participatory and acceptable.
