American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) has secured the second position among all public and private universities in the country in the Impact Ranking-2025 of the UK-based education magazine ‘Times Higher Education’ (THE).
The ranking organization released the results on Wednesday (June 18). 2,526 universities from 130 countries around the world have been included in this year’s Impact Ranking.
This international ranking is published based on the universities’ contribution to social development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) declared by the United Nations. In this year’s ranking, American International University Bangladesh has secured the 101-200 position globally in two SDGs, ‘Eradicate Poverty’ and ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’.
The university has also shown commendable progress in the areas of ‘Quality Education’ and ‘Partnership for Goal Achievement’. AIUB is ranked 601–800 globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025. As a result, the university has secured the second place among all public and private universities in the country.
This globally recognized ranking mainly evaluates the social impact of universities based on their research activities, quality of education, resource management, engagement with society, and sustainable activities.
