North South University is a Top Private University in the QS Rankings 2026. In 2025, a total of 15 higher education institutions in the country were ranked in the world’s best university rankings by the UK-based education and research organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). There are eight public universities and seven private universities that have made it.
North South University (NSU) has been ranked in the 951-1000 band in the list of the world’s best universities in the QS World University Rankings 2026. This year, this ranking was published among 4,150 participating institutions from 143 countries around the world.
The results were officially announced today, Thursday (June 19). North South University is at the top of all private universities in the country.
In the context of Bangladesh, NSU is in third place among all participating universities. NSU has achieved the top position in several important categories. Among these, reputation among employers and the number of international teachers are in the first place. It ranked third in terms of academic reputation and employability, fourth in the sustainable development category, and fifth in terms of international research network, international students and student diversity. In addition, NSU ranked tenth in terms of faculty-student ratio and eleventh in terms of citations per faculty.
NSU Vice Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said, “This achievement is the result of everyone’s hard work. I express my gratitude to the entire NSU family for their continuous work towards being the best.”
This recognition as the top private university in Bangladesh highlights the potential for progress of NSU’s entire community and its ability to have an impact on the future education system domestically and internationally.
It is worth noting that participation in the QS rankings is voluntary, and QS does not collect any information on its own initiative. That is, this ranking is limited to only those universities that have voluntarily participated. Therefore, it is not a comprehensive ranking of all universities in the world.
