Bangladesh aims to be champions in Asia Cup 2025. The first batch of Bangladesh national cricket team has left the country to participate in the Asia Cup, the highest continental competition. The country’s cricketers dream big before traveling to every major tournament, and this time too was no exception. In that vein, wicketkeeper-batsman Zaker Ali Anik also said that their main goal is to win the title, keeping the Asia Cup in mind.
Before leaving the country on Sunday (September 7), Zaker said at the airport, “We are going with the goal of becoming champions. The preparation has been very good. Everyone in the team has a positive mindset, which will affect the results.”
According to Zaker, “We will try to do every match step by step well. Good preparation has been made for this. We believe wholeheartedly that we can be champions. We are going with that mindset.”
Praising power hitting coach Julian Wood, the hard-hitting batter said, “Julian has done a very good job with us. I hope the skills will be very useful. The techniques that have been taught or the new things that are being brought, the bat and these swings will definitely come in handy. All in all, we had a good time.’
It is worth noting that the fight for the continental supremacy in Asia is going to start from September 9. And the title-deciding final will be held on September 28. This time, this 8-nation tournament will be held in the T20 format, keeping in mind the upcoming World Cup. The venue for the opening match is Abu Dhabi, and the grand final will also be held in Dubai.
