Bangladesh and Total 12 Teams Will Play Women’s Asian Cup 2026. The country’s women footballers are writing new chapters of success. In just a month, both the national team and the U-20 women’s team have made history. For the first time, the national women’s football team and the age-based team have qualified for the main stage of the Asian Cup. Next year, the Bangladesh national women’s team will participate in Australia, while the U-20 team will play in Thailand.

The senior team secured a ticket to the Asian Cup from Myanmar last July. In addition, Sagarika-Munki-Trishnara secured the AFC Asian Cup by a goal difference despite losing to South Korea last Sunday (August 10). The Tigers had swept Laos and East Timor in the previous two matches.

After losing 6-1 to Korea in the last match of the group, the red-green representatives seemed to be in doubt about playing in the Asian Cup. Although their fate depended on the outcome of other matches. However, luck was on Bangladesh’s side. Bangladesh qualified for the main round after Lebanon lost 8-0 to Bangladesh on the same night, finishing among the top three runners-up.

The 12 teams for the 2026 U-20 Women’s Asian Cup have already been confirmed. Defending champions North Korea will play hosts Thailand. In addition, Vietnam, Australia, India, China, Japan, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Bangladesh and Chinese Taipei have confirmed their places in the main round.

The tournament will be held from April 1 to 18, 2026. The 12 teams will be divided into three groups and will play in the Asian Cup.
