The Bangladesh Election Commission will publish the draft voter list on August 10. After that, it will publish the final list on August 31 after scrutinizing objections and claims until August 21.
Additional Secretary of the Election Commission KM Ali Newaz gave this information to journalists at the Election Commission Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday.
Election officials said that by including new and previously excluded voters and excluding deceased voters from the list, the number of voters in the 13th National Parliament elections could be around 129.75 million.
According to the Election Commission’s voter list as of March 2, the total number of voters in the country was 123.732 million.
From January 20, the Election Commission started the work of updating the voter list by going door to door to collect information.
According to the NID Wing report, 60.87 million new voters have been registered and more than 2 million deceased voters have been excluded from the list.
