GD will no longer be required to retrieve lost NID. For the convenience of citizens, the obligation to file a general diary (GD) in case of loss of National Identity Card (NID). The Election Commission (EC) aims to reduce the suffering of citizens through this decision.
On Thursday (September 4), EC’s National Identity Registration Division Director General ASM Humayun Kabir confirmed this information to the media.
He said, the EC has given final approval to the proposal to remove the obligation of GD to retrieve lost NID. In addition, we also have a plan on how to make NID services easier.
Incidentally, according to the latest voter list, the current number of voters in the country is 126.37 million. Of these, 64.1455 are male voters, 62.25 million are female voters, and 1,230 are third-gender voters.
