Major 6 Changes Coming to ChatGPT. The popular artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT is getting several major updates. OpenAI said that with the launch of the new GPT-5 model, ChatGPT will have major changes in its appearance, performance and features. It will be faster, more personal and easier to use.
With the launch of GPT-5, OpenAI is discontinuing the old models—GPT-4o, GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.5—from now on. ChatGPT will run on GPT-5 by default. The new auto-switching system will automatically choose the best model and answer, so there will be no need to change the model separately.
Now users can also choose the type of answer they want. The newly added ‘Personality’ feature has four types of styles—Cynic, which gives sarcastic and direct answers, Robot, warm and calm Listener and knowledgeable analytical Nerd. If you wish, you can also use the old default style.
ChatGPT’s coding capabilities have also been improved in the new version. From now on, it will be able to create apps or websites from more complex prompts. There will also be the facility to view and interact directly on the created project canvas.
The customization opportunities for users have also been increased. Now ChatGPT’s accent color can be changed to arrange the chat bubble, voice button and highlighted text as per their choice. This can be changed in the web version from Profile > Settings > General, and in the mobile app from Personalization > Color Scheme.
There have also been major changes in voice mode. An improved Advanced Voice Mode has been added for paid users, which will allow them to understand instructions better and customize the type of conversation. Although the old Standard Voice Mode is closed, paid users will get almost unlimited voice benefits. Additional usage time will also be added for free users. From now on, voice mode will also work with Custom GPTs.
Finally, ChatGPT’s direct connection with Gmail and Google Calendar is being introduced. Through this, users will be able to create schedules, see missed email notifications and plan their day. Pro users will first receive this feature next week, and it will be rolled out to other users in a phased manner.
