OpenAI unveils GPT-5, New Features Including Fake News Detection. Manufacturer OpenAI has launched a new version of its artificial intelligence (AI) technology, ‘GPT-5’. It is much more powerful, intelligent and secure than all previous models. The most significant advancement in this model is its fake news detection capability. The company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sam Altman has referred to this new model as the beginning of a new era for ChatGPT.
This new model can be used in three versions. GPT-5, GPT-5 Mini and GPT-5 Nano. Users can use the GPT-5 and Mini versions for free. However, the GPT 5 Pro version will cost $200 per month.
The company claims that the new model has been integrated into all of OpenAI’s services. As a result, the model will work in all tasks, including logic analysis, image creation, web browsing or voice mode. The GPT 5 model will show PhD-level skills when coding and writing. In terms of coding, GPT 5 is more advanced than all previous models.
OpenAI also claims that GPT-5 is more aware and efficient than before when it comes to health-related questions. It can analyze the user’s questions and identify any concerns and provide necessary advice. In addition, GPT-5 understands the user’s level and position of knowledge and gives more accurate and relevant answers.
Previous GPT versions were criticized for their tendency to create false information (hallucinations). OpenAI claims that this problem has been significantly reduced in the GPT-5 model. The error rate of the new model is 65 percent lower than the ‘O3’ version and 26 percent lower than the GPT-4. Its reliability and stability have been increased by testing it with external experts for more than 5,000 hours. As a result, GPT-5 will not give unreasonable answers if it does not know certain information about a topic.
