Shahjalal Airport: New guidelines on entry with passengers

The airport authorities have said that no more than two people will be allowed to enter the driveway and canopy area of Dhaka’s Shahjalal Airport. The authorities made this announcement in a message on Thursday (July 25) night.

It said that from next Sunday, a maximum of two people will be allowed to enter the departure driveway and arrival canopy of the airport area to see off or welcome passengers at Shahjalal International Airport.

The airport authorities say that this measure has been taken to ensure normal passenger travel, traffic congestion and safety.

Until now, there was no restriction on how many people can enter with passengers.

According to the airport authorities, currently 12.5 million passengers use Shahjalal International Airport annually. 140-150 international flights are operated daily.
