Proposals of 10 teachers and officials initially selected for technical education research. Research proposals of 10 teachers and officials have been initially selected to participate in the research activities conducted under the Directorate of Technical Education for the fiscal year 2025-26. This information was given in an office order signed by the Directorate’s Planning and Development Director Engineer Md. Akhteruzzaman recently.
The selected teachers and officials are associated with various technical education institutions of the country. Their proposed research has included important topics such as environmentally friendly technology, health, innovative engineering, gender inclusion and VET branding.
The 10 nominated researchers are, Bangladesh Technical Education Board System Analyst Md. Mahbub Haider’s research topic is ‘Green Practices in Refrigeration: Innovation and Performance of Two-in-One System’. Chief Instructor of Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute Md. Merajul Islam will conduct research on ‘The Adverse Effects of Playing Mobile Games on Human Health by Using EEG’. Another Chief Instructor of the same institution, Dr. Md. Emdadul Haque’s research topic is ‘A Study to Design a New Model of Electric Rickshaw with Better Performance and Enhanced Safety Concern’.
Chief Instructor of Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute Dr. Md. Ariful Alam will research ‘Sustainability Assessment and Consumer Perception of Optimized Edible Film for Industrial Use’. Assistant Professor of Sylhet Engineering College Md. Abu Naser Majumdar’s research topic is ‘An Improved YOLOv8 Deep Learning Algorithm for Robust Vehicle Detection in Adverse Weather Conditions’.
Chief Instructor of Satkhira Polytechnic Institute Gautam Kumar Biswas will research ‘Extraction of Silica Gel from Rice Husk: A Novel Approach to Convert Waste into Resource’. Similarly, Instructor of Electronics Department S. M. Tahmid Sadiq’s research topic is ‘Branding and Awareness of TVET in Bangladesh: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Growth’.
Associate Professor of Mymensingh Engineering College Dr. Atiur Rahman Baiji’s research is titled ‘The Role of Technical Education in the Development of Green Technology and Green Jobs in Bangladesh: Status and Expectations’ and Assistant Professor Mohammad Atiqul Hasan’s research is titled ‘The Impact of Gender Inclusion and Equity on Women’s Empowerment: A Policy and Institutional Analysis of TVET Sectors in Bangladesh’.
In addition, Dhaka Polytechnic Institute Chief Instructor Md. Nazmul Hannan has been selected for the research on ‘Assessing the Impact of In-Service Training on the Professional Growth and Skill Development of TVET Teachers in Bangladesh’.
The office order further states that the selected candidates will have to submit their revised full proposals by July 15. After that, the deadline for submitting the progress report, data collection, analysis and final report will be set step by step. The research activities will be conducted in accordance with the 2021 Research Policy and the expenditure will be incurred from code 3257103. The research results will be presented following APA style and SPSS software will be used for data analysis.
