‘Study well, you will definitely succeed’ – Mother says to Gaurab. When he became a cadre, his mother was not there. Khandaker Gaurab Mustafa has been recommended for the administration cadre in the 44th BCS examination. This young man, who has been active in the cultural field in addition to his studies since childhood, has achieved one of the desired successes in life with his strong determination, perseverance, and the inspiration of his family, especially his mother.

Khandaker Gaurab Mustafa is a resident of Ghoshpara Mohalla, Ward No. 3 of Pabna Municipality. His father Khandaker Golam Mustafa was working as a Deputy Assistant Engineer at the Bangladesh Water Development Board and retired in 2015. His mother, the late Gulshan Ara, worked as a data entry operator in the same organization. She passed away in January 2020.

And the biggest credit for my success goes to my mother. My mother always told me, study well, InshaAllah one day you will definitely succeed. Today he is not by my side, but I know that today he would be the happiest if he were by my side. My father has always supported me and given me courage. He used to say, try, I am always by your side.’

The only child of the family, Gaurav, obtained a golden GPA-5 in the SSC examination from Pabna Zilla School in 2011 and HSC examination from Shaheed Bulbul Government College, Pabna in 2013 respectively. Then he got admitted to the Mechanical Engineering Department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He graduated with distinction in October 2018.

After graduation, he started preparing for the BCS examination. Along with his studies, Gaurav is a trained musician, which has helped him stay mentally strong.

The result of this long preparation came in the form of being recommended for the BCS administration cadre. Expressing his feelings, Gaurav said, ‘First of all, I thank Allah Almighty. And the biggest credit for my success goes to my mother. My mother always told me, study well, InshaAllah one day you will definitely succeed. Today he is not by my side, but I know that today he would be the happiest if he were by my side. My father has always supported me and given me courage. He used to say, ‘Try hard, I am always by your side.’

At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to all the teachers in his educational career for his success.

While giving advice to BCS aspirants, he said, ‘To achieve something good, you must be patient. You have to study regularly, prepare yourself with hard work. Failure may come, but don’t let it distract you from your goal. If luck helps, success will definitely come.’

In his personal life, Gaurav is married and has a two-year-old daughter. His wife is a doctor by profession. This young man, who is built on the combination of family, education and culture, is ready to dedicate himself to serving the country by entering the BCS administration. He prays for everyone’s prayers for his and his family’s well-being.
