You no longer have to spend time on editing software to make a video. YouTube Shorts has introduced an innovative AI tool—‘Image to Video’. It will create a short moving video based on the picture in a few seconds.
Just select a picture from your mobile gallery and YouTube’s AI tool will show some creative suggestions that match that picture. With one click, that picture will become an attractive 6-second short video, as if the picture itself has come alive.
Suppose you have taken a picture of a traffic signal. YouTube’s new tool will animate that picture as if the person in the picture is dancing! It will have zoom, dynamics, and even the background will change automatically. Although the tool is similar to Google’s Gemini or Meta’s Animate tool, YouTube Shorts’ features are simpler and more suitable for new creators.
The AI feature is not limited to creating ‘video from picture’. If you draw a light doodle on your phone, YouTube will turn it into a work of art. Or if you take a selfie, it will turn it into a video where you might be floating in water or at an event!
This feature can be found in the ‘AI’ tab of the ‘Effects’ option of the YouTube Shorts camera. This new AI tool is now available in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
YouTube said that this feature will be available in more countries soon. In addition, YouTube has launched a platform called ‘AI Playground’, which will have various tools, examples, creation prompts and guidelines for video creation. With their next generative video model ‘Veo-3’, not only video can be created, but also audio. It has been said that it will be added to YouTube Shorts this year.
